Portland - Alberta District
And wow, just how FAB is it to land with Joe & Lee in their most welcoming home.
Not a single box in sight. Nothing to pack up, nothing to load.
It was deeply relaxing for me to finally realise we would not be getting on a plane.
We really are on Road Trip.
No matter how many times MPJ told me we were not going to fly, I just couldn't believe her.
Now that we're here, it's finally sinking in.
Whew! (paw swipes brow in abject relief)
Nothin' to do here except Play...
So while MPJ, Lee & Joe headed out for something to eat, Huxley and I made the most of hanging out.
The next day we went to explore Alberta Avenue.
Portland is SO cool!
MPJ loves this neighbourhood. It's still unpretentious, a kind of not-in-your-face-hipster-hip. Just the right note of groovy, filled with all kinds of thriving arts.
I especially liked going into the pet store, where I charmed the staff into giving me multiple biscuits, err, I mean cookies, whenever MPJ wasn't looking.
She bought some Himalayan Yak snacks for me.
No way Jose.
That's a big-dog treat, I'm way too small to even begin to make a dent in them.
Give me rawhide any day.
A big part of our Charity Drive is to engage with marginalised communities and we want people to know that we want to connect with every aspect of American society.
As ever, our travels in America are constantly affirming just how many
good people are working to make things better.
Thank you Joe & Lee & Huxley,
We have had a WONDERFUL visit with you.
Thanks for all the time spent lolling on the couches just chilling out when we weren't hanging out in your cool'n'groovy neighbourhood.
We love You!!
